Hey there! I’m Alistair Ng, a multidisciplinary designer from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I’ve been drawn to design for as long as I can remember, but that interest really grew when I started paying attention to the creative world around K-pop, from teaser rollouts and album packaging to music videos and entire visual identities. It showed me how an idea could extend far beyond a single piece of design and become a whole experience.
I wasn’t exactly an academic success story in high school. I saw more C’s than Christopher Columbus did. But I knew I wanted to pursue design professionally, and with the support of my family, I took that chance at university. It turned out to be the right one. Since then, I’ve grown into a designer who especially enjoys developing concepts and finding the right form for an idea, whether that ends up being digital, physical, moving, printed, or somewhere in between.
I try to stay curious about what’s happening around me, from current visual trends to the work, culture and people that keep my ideas moving. A lot of who I am as a designer has also been shaped by the family, friends and collaborators I’ve been lucky enough to learn from along the way.
